Supporting the Worcester Warriors Foundation
Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers are proud supporters of the Worcester Warriors Foundation with a deep rooted history of the rugby charity and their community work in Worcestershire.
It’s been troubling times at the Worcester Warriors Foundation to say the least! The financial pressures felt throughout professional rugby escalated during the COVID pandemic, with associated charities also feeling a downward spiral on their finances. The Worcester Warriors Foundation although heavily connected with the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club, is an independent charity that supports the local community with many initiatives from a Dementia Sports Cafe, to Homeless Sport and Wheelchair Rugby to name just a few.
When Worcester Warriors was forced to close its doors last season, the charity was left with no office, store, internet or telephone lines. They contacted us to help them find a way forward and with our local business connections we managed to get them back up and running and continuing their invaluable support in the local community. We also provided their insurance as an ongoing commitment to an organisation which is so needed right now when the people using their support are also experiencing stresses due to the cost-of-living crisis.
In June 2023 Duncan Sutcliffe was able to use his position as a Trustee of The Bransford Trust to find them a permanent new home which will enable them to expand their activities and collaborate with other community groups who do not have a place of their own. We are excited to see the next chapter for the Worcester Warriors Foundation and the Sutcliffe & Co team will continue to back their invaluable support in whatever way we can.
