Richard Sutcliffe

With Great Sadness…

After over 50 years as an insurance broker we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Richard Sutcliffe, founder and director of Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers, Worcester, who died suddenly on Boxing Day 2017.

Not long after leaving the Royal Grammar School Richard followed the footsteps of both his father & grandfather by joining the insurance industry, first at Eagle Star in Birmingham, before joining his father’s firm JH Sutcliffe & Co, then Cross & Bevington, lastly founding Sutcliffe & Co in 1982. Richard grew Sutcliffe & Co from humble beginnings to become the well regarded insurance brokerage it is today, with clients across the UK.

Richard was a well-known figure in the Worcestershire business community, active in a range of organisations and societies, and a patient follower of Worcester Warriors. Leadership of Sutcliffe & Co now passes to Richard’s son Duncan Sutcliffe who entered the business in 2002.

Richard’s Service of Thanksgiving will take place at 14:00 Tuesday 13th February at Pershore Abbey. No flowers please, however if you would like to make a donation to St Richard’s Hospice please send via E Hill & Son Funeral Directors, Pershore, WR10 1HZ
