SUTCLIFFE & CO CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF WORCESTER CITY RUNS 2025

Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers is proud to celebrate the huge success of the 2025 Worcester City Runs, which took place over the weekend of 13th and 14th September and brought the city to life with an unforgettable festival of running. Coupled with the Worcester Music Festival on the same weekend, Worcester’s big weekend of events, sponsored by Sutcliffe & Co, highlights the city as a major attraction in the West Midlands.
As the headline sponsor for the first year of its new three-year partnership, Sutcliffe & Co was delighted to support an event that welcomed nearly 6,000 runners of all ages and abilities, cheered on by thousands of enthusiastic supporters who lined the streets to create an electric atmosphere.
The weekend featured a packed schedule of events, including the Worcester City 10K and Half Marathon, Young Athletes Runs and Paula Radcliffe’s Families on Track. Whether participants were seasoned runners, first-timers, or families enjoying a fun day together, the spirit of inclusivity and community shone throughout, raising thousands of pounds for charities.
Sutcliffe & Co’s very own Sue Smith proudly took on the challenge as a Worcester City Runs Ambassador, completing the 10K after months of preparation and proving that determination and community support can take you all the way to the finish line.
Managing Director of Sutcliffe & Co, Duncan Sutcliffe said, “We are thrilled with the success of the Worcester City Runs 2025. It was wonderful to see so many people, from elite athletes to first-time runners taking part.”
Duncan adds, “We are especially proud of our colleague Sue Smith, who showed true resilience, inspiring us all to lace up our runners and get outside . We look forward to continuing our partnership with Events of the North over the next two years and supporting this event as it grows from strength to strength. Next year will be even bigger!”.
The Worcester City Runs, founded by British running legend Steve Cram and organised by Events of the North in partnership with Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council, once again proved to be a major feature in the city’s events calender. With many participants running for charity, the weekend also raised vital funds for good causes across the community.
Sutcliffe & Co looks forward to building on the success of this year’s event and supporting even more people to get active and involved in Worcester’s biggest running festival in the years ahead.
