A Record-Breaking Weekend for Worcester Sponsored by Sutcliffe & Co.

Worcester was buzzing with energy over the weekend of 12th -13th September as two of the city’s most loved events, Worcester City Runs and Worcester Music Festival, returned bigger and better than ever. Proudly sponsored by Sutcliffe & Co, both events celebrated record-breaking participation, showcasing the community spirit that continues to make Worcester such an inspiring place to live, work and visit.
Record numbers take to the streets for Worcester City Runs
For the third consecutive year, the Sutcliffe & Co Worcester City Runs attracted a record number of participants, strengthening its reputation as one of the region’s premier running events. More than 6,000 runners crossed the finish line in Sunday’s Half Marathon, 10K and Young Athletes Run, while a further 200 participants took part in Paula Radcliffe’s Families on Track relay event on Saturday. The two-day festival brought together runners of all ages and abilities, from seasoned athletes chasing personal bests to families enjoying the occasion together and soaking up the atmosphere.
Organised by Events of the North in partnership with Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council, the event once again demonstrated the growing running culture in Worcester and the city’s ability to host large-scale community events.
Worcester Music Festival hits the right note with new venue
Meanwhile, music fans were treated to another outstanding Worcester Music Festival, which celebrated its 18th year in style. The festival featured more than 300 artists performing across 340 performances at over 20 venues throughout the city. Huntingdon Hall also joined the festival’s impressive line-up of venues, adding another iconic Worcester location to the event to featuring emerging local stars.
From intimate acoustic performances to energetic live shows, the festival once again highlighted the depth of musical talent across the region and brought thousands of visitors into the city over the weekend.
