What is Contract Works insurance?

Contract works insurance, also known as contractors’ all risks insurance, is designed to cover building works whilst undergoing construction, should they suffer damage or theft. Contract works insurance can also be extended to include materials, tools, plant, hired plant and temporary site buildings.

Why do I need contract works insurance?

If a construction site suffers damage or theft, contract works insurance is designed to cover the loss in a similar way that buildings insurance covers a completed property. Most construction contracts will state a requirement to insure the contract works and who is responsible for insuring the contract works. Sutcliffe & Co insurance brokers have been providing contract works insurance for decades. If you would like a quote, phone us on 01905 2168 or contact us here.

What other insurance might I require with my contract works policy?

A building contract will often also specify a need for public liability insurance, non-negligence insurance (also known as 6.5.1 insurance), employers’ liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance, as well as bonds. If you would like to discuss your contractual insurance requirements, please call us on 01905 21681 or contact us here.
